Lupe R. using a SmartBoard to create a Valentine's card in Mrs. Nicosia's class.
In Mrs. Nicosia’s Life Skills class, the students are using the smartboard to write Valentine’s Day cards. Each student is able to go up to the board and select his/her message. Everyone of Mrs. Nicosia’s students is able to access the board because it is adjustable in height. So it doesn’t matter if they are tall, short, in a wheel chair, or walker because they can all reach it somehow. She uses the SmartBoard for math games, reading online books, watching interactive movies/games, writing, etc. It allows her students another way to demonstrate understanding, because they aren’t always pencil and paper kids. It saves on paper, laminating film, velcro, and ink.
