Students in Mrs. Duran’s and Mr. Seibel’s Math classes are using the wireless Interwrite Tablets to work out Math problems on the screen. The wireless tablets are passed around class for volunteers to work out their math problems being projected on the screen. The wireless tablets are another means of getting technology into the hands of the students to assist them in their lessons. The students really like to use the tablets in solving problems in class.

Lupe R. is using the SmartBoard to create a Valentine's card.
Mrs. Nicosia’s Life Skills Class is using the smartboard to write Valentine’s Day cards at BMS. Each student is able to go up to the board and select his/her message. Every students is able to access the board because it is adjustable in height. So it doesn’t matter if they are tall, short, in a wheel chair, or walker because they can all reach it somehow. She uses the Smart Board for math games, reading online books, watching interactive movies/games, writing, etc. It allows her students another way to demonstrate understanding, because they aren’t always pencil and paper kids. It saves on paper, laminating film, velcro, and ink.

6th graders in Ms. Vandeweerd’s TechApps class enjoyed using the Clickers to help them review for a test.
Using Clickers in a classroom can give you the quickest response back to the teacher in determining what needs to be retaught or not. The students get so absorbed into using the Clickers, that they don’t see the process as studying for a test!
The teacher showed the students how their response compared to others in the class. A graph is immediately displayed after each answer is scored to determine the percentage of right answers to incorrectly answered questions. The students were more eager to ’study’ using a hand-held device versus reading!!
