The Blanco Vista 2009-2010 Tech Club is going strong. These young people give up time before and after school to help BV Technologist, Annette Howard, maintain the computer labs and much more. They stay after school once a month and clean computers, help troubleshoot technology issues, deliver and pick up equipment, and generally help in any way they are asked. This amazing group of 4th and 5th graders is learning more about technology and about responsibility every day!

Landmark Challenge 019

One of Mrs. Leonard’s 2nd grade students dressed up like the Statue of Liberty for the “Big Reveal” portion of the Landmark Challenge. Students from four elementary schools exchanged clues and ultimately guessed what Landmark the other classes were describing. In the final part of the video conference, each class was asked to reveal their “Landmark” so the other classes could see if they had guessed correctly.

Ms Brast, 5th grade Science teacher at Blanco Vista ES, is taking her students to the moon. They are studying the phases of the moon and even requested a link be placed on the BVES website so students would have quick access to check the phases from home. Students research the phases of the moon and examine what phase the moon was in on the day they were born. Thanks to NASA…this information is easily accessible to students on line!
