Wallace Middle School journalism teacher Jonathan Campbell followed up on a suggestion by Instructional Technologist Kathy Gryta to bring the first online newspaper to our school.  Third period journalism students have been writing and editing their stories, locating and tagging photographs, and submitting their drafts to their section editors to create a very professional-looking effort published on the new Hayscisd Wordpress server.  Take a look, I think you’ll agree, these kids have a future in news reporting!

The first book club book was ‘How Angel Peterson got his nickname’, and more recently a group of students met during lunch to share and discuss graphic novels.  Librarian Mueller posts an open ended question on the book blog, and students comment in response.  Check us out at WMSBooks !
